[..YouTube..] The solo is just fast in terms of left hand movement in that one part. I have trouble getting it very clean. In this recording I missed a couple of the notes, but the backing song fills them in a bit.
The POD has a built in noise gate that can be enabled, which is why it sounds silent when I’m not playing. If I turn that off, there’s a bit of feedback.
[..YouTube..] The POD is pretty easy to use. As with any new effects unit, it will take some time to learn, but it’s far from complicated.
As far as buying other stuff, it depends on what you want to hook it up to. If you’re going to play through an amp, you can just use an instrument cable. If you want to play through your computer or stereo, you’ll need some type of adapter cable (refer to my website). Of course, good headphones are another option.

[..YouTube..] The older Avenged Sevenfold albums are MUCH better IMO…I own “Waking the Fallen” and “Sounding the Seventh Trumpet”. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet is pretty heavy with growling and screaming…Waking the Fallen is a little more mellower, but still has some heavy songs. City of Evil, from the songs I’ve heard (haven’t and probably won’t buy it), is MUCH more mellowed out…and the lead singer changed his style. I heard he was stressing out his vocal chords too much or something.

[..YouTube..] Well it’s not fretless, it’s “marker-less”. Those are very different things. There are actually fret markers on the top of the neck, but it definitely took me some time to get used to it. In fact, I still lose my place sometimes at the higher frets.

the tip of your thumb hits the string slightly after the pick plucks it. it will alter the vibrations and make a screechy noise. there are vids here if you search for em.

The POD has a built in noise gate that can be enabled, which is why it sounds silent when I’m not playing. If I turn that off, there’s a bit of feedback.

As far as buying other stuff, it depends on what you want to hook it up to. If you’re going to play through an amp, you can just use an instrument cable. If you want to play through your computer or stereo, you’ll need some type of adapter cable (refer to my website). Of course, good headphones are another option.

[..YouTube..] The older Avenged Sevenfold albums are MUCH better IMO…I own “Waking the Fallen” and “Sounding the Seventh Trumpet”. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet is pretty heavy with growling and screaming…Waking the Fallen is a little more mellower, but still has some heavy songs. City of Evil, from the songs I’ve heard (haven’t and probably won’t buy it), is MUCH more mellowed out…and the lead singer changed his style. I heard he was stressing out his vocal chords too much or something.

There are actually fret markers on the top of the neck, but it definitely took me some time to get used to it. In fact, I still lose my place sometimes at the higher frets.
