Metallica – One

“One” was voted as the 7th of the “100 Greatest Guitar Solos” of all time by readers of Guitar World, placed between “November Rain” by Guns N’ Roses (6th) and “Hotel California” by the Eagles (8th).

In an interview with Tenacious D, they claimed that the inspiration for the song ‘Tribute’ came after Jack Black played Metallica’s “One” for Kyle Gass, describing it as “the best song in the world.

Part 1 – Songs of Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is a music video game and the upcoming third full installment in the Guitar Hero series (the fourth title overall). Guitar Hero 3 is soon to be released on all major consoles, and most of the soundtrack has been known to the public for some time.

Many songs from earlier Guitar Hero games have been given new life after being included in the game, and has probably inspired many young kids to pick up a real guitar. Here in the first part we check some covers (and a lesson) of some of the classic songs included, with a warm welcome (finally!) to Metallica…

Metallica – Blackened

This is a very nice cover of Blackened from “…And Justice For All” by testament19. Here is some classic info about this album from wiki:

The song structures on …And Justice for All were so complex that the band apparently had some difficulty reproducing the songs precisely for their Damaged Justice tour shows. The band stated many times in subsequent years that this kind of difficulty was the primary reason for the relatively simpler song structures on their next album, Metallica. Hammett said: “One day after we played ‘Justice’ and got off the stage one of us said, ‘we’re never fucking playing that song again.’”
