[..YouTube..] Awesomwe. How many time did you practice for to get that speed? In the last scale do you use always the pick or you play with “hammer on” too?
[..YouTube..] gah.. i can do the fingerings and stuff but when i lift off my finger to go to the next note the sound of the electric guitar will like.. ring or something. i dunno.. it sounds horrid.. gah.. anyone knows how to prevent that? so like when i lift my finger off the top string the note will still ring and it interferes with the next thing im playing..
[..YouTube..] john261187 – practice playing scales with a metronome and gradually build up the speed. Problem solved. See my web site under technique. Honest J
[..YouTube..] Wow, I feel honoured to have a reply from the man himself! See you on T.V all the time with the Katie Melua Band…love it!
But I diverse, I shall do as you say and hopefully all shall be well. Cheers Justin!
[..YouTube..] I just cant get this up to speed. I get the left hand up to speed, but then my right hand messes up.
I need to see what your right hand is doing, how are you picking?, how are holding the pick?, we need to see this I think.
Thanks
[..YouTube..] Hi Justin! KATIE MELUA was in Sweden this friday performing on a Show called Fredag hela veckan (friday all week), were you there? I couldt see you! Rock
[..YouTube..] I like your vids cause you make it clear what you are playing …and not just showing of your ability off(most guitar tutorial videos suck)…this is a little bellow my ability…but the flick instead of just hammering on and pulling off adds a cool little sound….nice work
[..YouTube..] Your guitar instructional videos are entertaining, informative, and absolutely amazing. I just giggle over how much helpful information, and how much detail you remember to put into each video. You are also so generous to be doing what you do to promote and share what you know about the guitar. I have to catch up on all of the 111 other videos (or however many you have…) that you have posted on YouTube. Again, amazing stuff. Thanks.
[..YouTube..] ohhh. AHH.. haha! ok i see i see.. thanks so much for replying XD.. keep up the great vids and continue helping out noobs like me.. haha thanks
[..YouTube..] 1 tip though.. would you mind putting a tab beside you when your tutoring so that it would be really easy..bydway YOU ROCK…do you have a pick of destiny?
[..YouTube..] thx u Justin, good one,i can realy play what you teach, your cloosed up camrea on freadboard and the time you take to explane it all make you lesson i realy anjoy rock on,wating for next lick , see you
[..YouTube..] why pay for lessons when you have justin is what i say. because of him my playing has improved 100%. His lesson on pinch harmonics was the best.
[..YouTube..] Why pay for lessons? Cause good teachers like Justin will notice faults before you do wish could have taken u months or even years to discover yourself. So it saves alot of time if u have a good teacher.
[..YouTube..] nice man however, to be a good player you dont need speed. although it may sound very cool guitar is all about the soul. IT aint no thang if it aint got that swang * Eliot
[..YouTube..] yes but however, it’s good to learn lots of techniques and put it into your solos/riffs. i play alot of blues but i’d also like to learn shredding and tapping!
[..YouTube..] In my own opinon these licks are kind of boring to play. I agree with Codyremo eventhou speed can be a good thing to have. Tempo changes make music much more intresting. Anyway, the key to speed is this: Get a metronome, start at a slow tempo, and start training while you slowly speed up. Let it take months if it has to, even.
[..YouTube..] Nice Video, check out the website link in my profile. I have my naked pics and video which youtube doesn’t allow, where I’m being naughty
[..YouTube..] Amen, thank you my friend, you just taught me something here i probably would have spent months trying to learn. God bless you. The bes t things in life really are free. =)
[..YouTube..] Slipknot, after seeing your video, it’s to bad your mother did’nt abort you……
Keep up the good work Justin, I watch all your videos….You’ve taught me alot,
Thank You!

[..YouTube..] what does it matter if people are better than him? He’s a better teacher and thats what this video it so for so i don’t really understand the point of u insulting his ability on guitar

[..YouTube..] wtf is that thing at the end of your video, a badger? its quite pissed off about something. P.S. great lessons, you’re a very versatile player/teacher
[..YouTube..] Thanks for your advice. I have been playing guitar for many years but I have not tried the fast guitar licks before. Could anyone tell me how many hours of practice one has to put in to acheive satisfactory speed licks ?

[..YouTube..] somthing that will help you out BIG time is a metronome (how ever you spell that). I noticed a HUUGE increase in my speed at picking and at hammer-ons and pull-offs when i started practicing with one. It also makes it more fun and challenging to practice, cuz you dial up the speed and try to keep up with it for a good 5 mins. at a time

you’re great.
thanks so much for teaching all of these lessons, you’re a great teacher.
[..YouTube..] Justin….I might be blind but I can’t find the tab for this that you talk about here anywhere on your site. Great stuff though, man! As everyone else is saying….you completely rock! Thanks for doing all of this for those of us struggling to learn the guitar!

[..YouTube..] you’ll play shit really fast!! I like how you say metal with a cockney accent too! I wish I could afford you to be my mentor, the videos will do me for now tho
[..YouTube..] Hey bro, I finally get it! I’ve just started pickin’ and I found myself wondering the same as you just said. “How in the world are people playing this fast” it never made sense to me until now! Thanks a lot for teaching me that, I get it now. This opens up many doors for me now……thanks again man!

[..YouTube..] That’s sick (sick being as frigin amazing!).
Anyways, I am having problem with the hammer on. I down pick the 12th fret on e and while keeping my finger on the 12th fret, I press on the 15th fret but I can barely hear it. How come yours was so loud? Is there a secret or something?
[..YouTube..] Hi, Im really enjoying your videos and im learning a lot from them, but i have one question. How do you get that sound of distortion that you have? I have a boss MD2 mega distortion pedal and a relatively old peavey practice amp. Is there any way i can get this sound with them or will i need to buy something else? Thanks alot for your help, your videos are great and very helpful!
[..YouTube..] albhstar, i don’t know it someone already answered ur question or not so i’ll try to help: don’t just press down on the fret. like he said REALLY try to hammer down on it and hopefully it will get better for you. and after a while it becomes a lot easier
[..YouTube..] bbushraa and anyone one else wondering how he’s plays so fast…. is really because he’s probably been playing a long time (probably multiple years) but this is beginners fast licks so in a little while, or a few months, you’ll probably find it it’s not that hard

[..YouTube..] thanks a lot justin for uploading this video. i have learned something new although i know i will have to practise a lot to play like you. you have inspired me. cheers take care.
[..YouTube..] dude that was a great lesson. thanks. this the second video that you made that i learned something from. by any chance is that david gilmour’s sig start replica?

[..YouTube..] Great Lesson. Sometimes I wish though people would show the picking hand technique. Picking this in compact precise movements is key also. But awesome lesson. I always learn alot from him.
[..YouTube..] For metal licks, it’s definitely easier to hammer on with an electric with the distortion cranked up, but it’s also still possible with an acoustic…hammer-ons generally sounds more clear as you travel down the neck on an acoustic, since you don’t have to hit as hard with the spaced-out frets.

Great Instructions and I’ve been playing since 1971 and I’m still can’t play lead……arghh
But after viewing your videos it sure made a difference!!!
Thanks again keep up the good work.

[..YouTube..] wow man every time i do one of yoyr lessons mi guitaring emproves soooo much i could never get speed down untill u showed me this lick !!!!!
[..YouTube..] Me too, but I found a secret cheat, that I addictively use – It actually helps train your fingers for pull offs (flick offs) in the end, anyway.
What you do is, instead of trying to pull the string up with you, pull it downward, as if you were trying to hit the next string (just don’t hit the next string lol). Try that on your e string (the tiny one) with the riff Justin shows us. It works.
Damien – I recommend start with 1.0, get a thicker pick and a thinner pick, and if you like one over the other, go in that direction until you find what works for you. .80′s are real popular in metal. I like 1.0′s

[..YouTube..] I saw this vid a month or two ago, and have been practicing it every once in the while, and it have helped me speed up my fingers for solos that i haven’t been able to play before!
Thank you, justin!

[..YouTube..] Well like Justin said, it’s a really common lick because it’s fairly easy and sounds cool. I hear it in a lot of solos, but Zakk Wylde seems to fall back on it whenever he can. Especially if you see him improvising live. Do a search for that and you’ll see 8 minutes of this lick.
[..YouTube..] The “animal” is a Tasmanian Devil, Justin comes from Tasmania (I think!!) Anyway if he doesn’t – he should! (We got a Tasmanian Princess so there!!!)
[..YouTube..] its all got to do with personal preference. some ppl prefer thicker, personally i prefer medium +-0.7-0.8. Also can depend on the style u playing. i say for stuff like metal thicker picks(1mm) would be better, especially if u doing stuff like pitch harmonics and fast picking. Accoustic, yo would probably be better off using a thin pick..
[..YouTube..] Pick down on the first string and hit the first note (12th fret), then hammer on to the next note (15th fret), Flick, and then pick up on the next string.
so it would be PICK – Hammer – Flick – PICK.
down pick, hammer, flick, up pick on the next string.

[..YouTube..] alternate picking should be observed strictly (up down up down up down). This will allow you to maintain proper rhythm as things get faster and more complicated. That said, whether you start with an up or a down will often depend on what you want to do, or not matter at all in some cases.

[..YouTube..] Just go slow at a tempo where you will not make mistakes. Then once mastered at that tempo, move up a few clicks assuming you are using a metronome. A metronome is essential. Good luck.

[..YouTube..] START SLOW. it takes practice lol. Practice it SLOWLY for a week. After the week, then you speed up, and you keep doing that, going slow playing it perfect, so when you speed up it’s perfect, and not sloppy.

I am a natural musician type, and learn really fast, but had O.C.D and depression and other stuff happen the last 6 years and sadly after learning some classical stuff pretty fast and getting along well, I ahven’t touched guitar since. Sad sad long story, but just discovered you, and hope my musical dreams are not in tatters, but you are a blessed individual for teaching and playing. Thanks for your inspiration and hard work. Hope I can get back to my hopeful career !

[..YouTube..] …you could at least do some research before saying rubish things…Mark knophler plays on electric guitars and he uses his nails, not guitar picks…see him playing sultan’s of swing, for example
[..YouTube..] It’s alright if you make a mistake and English isn’t your primary language. I wasn’t trying to get on your case or anything, I’m just promoting proper spelling.

[..YouTube..] Does anyone else use their 4th finger instead of their 3rd to fret that pentatonic box shape? I have small hands and using the 3rd finger for the 4 fret reach always felt uncomfortable. Using the fourth finger instead of the 3rd lets you do some really wide bends though as you can use the 3rd finger to “reinforce” the bend.

[..YouTube..] actually try using ur third in time so u can involve more notes in ur licks that will widen spaces between ur fingers its good but dont go hard stretchin ur hands step by step when u finish playin guitar feelin some pain in ur fingers be happy cz it means u played somethin new to ur fingers that makes u stronger equals faster if u manage to bend with ur 4th without losing control on the string then cool but i warn u in the future u will need extra finger believe me g luck
[..YouTube..] justin, you have a tremendous talent, you sould be in a band. keep helping people to understand this unless world of guitar, you are a great teacher make things look easier.

[..YouTube..] THANK YOU!!!!
I’ve been playing guitar for years, trying to get better without lessons. It’s been a slow slow process. This lesson and your blues lead lesson are helping me break out of the same old patterns on my ‘licks’ (for lack of a better term).
I appreciate your simple and easy-to-understand approach to teaching.
[..YouTube..] it’s the guitar player that can do the tricks, but the guitar and amp that get you good quality sound, and some guitars may be more comfortable for you than others

[..YouTube..] Justin… this has helped so much. Until i learnt this about 4 weeks ago, my band at school (i’m 13) said i needed to improve soloing, bu using this and some of ur blues licks with a rock setting, i have developed my soloing and become extremely good.
[..YouTube..] You sod Justin – This was my last video of the night after a very long day. when that weird ozzie ‘creature’ at the end appeared I damned near dropped my brand new Telecaster. Thanks for the lesson though
[..YouTube..] Hell no! I stopped playing to start a business, buy a house, get married and have kids – and recently returned to guitar at 48 years old. I’m seeing speed and skill improvements directly related to how much practice I put in (and how many of Justin’s videos I watch!). You’re never too old mate!
My top tip: play for yourself. if YOU are enjoying it, you’re doing it right.

[..YouTube..] When your playing the lick fast, if you mute the second string and accidently pick it too early then it won’t bugger up the sound. Your only suppose to pick the second string at the fifteenth fret. Hope that helps
[..YouTube..] thanks man
i’ll go ahead and put this on here
at first i thought i was getting some kinda of arthritis but then i read it some where that a lot of guitarist get the problem but it turns out that most of the time—90% of the time its that fingers get sore because you dont have much muscular endurance in your fingers so yea
i was pretty scared
5/5 on the vid
[..YouTube..] Ive been practising this for over a year and I’m still slow. Tip to all begginers out there, don’t buy a guitar that has a huge ass wide neck if you have really small fingers. And even though light strings snap all the time, you cant shred without them.
[..YouTube..] tip: for the first few times you play it, take a scrunchy or a long sock and tie it around the lower part of the neck to mute the strings and practice it that way
[..YouTube..] If you think like that then you are probably right…
Get out of that mind set and keep trying.
Those that say they cant only limit them selves..
[..YouTube..] So you think Yngwie, Satriani, Paul Gilbert and countless other virutosos are noobs? Yeah right, you might aswell just put than opinion where it belongs: your cornhole.
[..YouTube..] HEY PEOPLE! IF you cant afford to donate some money to justin then at least CLICK on his adds to help him out… THIS WAY HE CAN POST SOME MORE VIDEOS TO HELP US OUT!….
[..YouTube..] ok i half take it back You don’t have to use a pick but if you learn how to use a pick as well as finger pick you will be much better. even people like tommy emanuel who finger pick use the picks that slip over there fingers and he can play awsome stuff with the normal way of holding a pick
[..YouTube..] Theres a very good example of this technique towards the end of 22 Acacia Avenue by Iron Maiden, i’m not sure if it’s done the same way, but it certainly sounds like it.
[..YouTube..] This is incredibly helpful for beginner and advanced guitarists alike. Everyone has little stumbles they get stuck on and he seems to help with them all.
[..YouTube..] If you like fingerstyle guitar you should also check out Dave Kear.
One of the best guitarists on You Tube.
Just type in davekear
in the search bar above. (No space between first and last name)
He really is amazing. Make sure to check out Day Tripper And his Spy medley.
He also plays Yankee Doodle and Dixie at the same time.
[..YouTube..] man, you are the guitar master. every you need a help to play guitar, just search : justinsandercoe.
i’m so sorry, my english was so bad man, : P
[..YouTube..] AH shits hard i play my guitar upside down (lefty with a righty) i can get most of the lick but not all of it but it still helped dude thanks
[..YouTube..] Too much bother. Then you’re constantly checking the set up. Best thing is to buy a dedicated Lefty. Remember a guitar’s body is braced especially for a righty or a lefty. Just my opinion. Happy Jammin’!
[..YouTube..] It’s also called a pull-off. It’s where your finger is already down on the fret, and you “flick” or “pull” off the string, more or less picking it with your left-hand. This saves time for the right-hand to switch into another position.
[..YouTube..] hope thiss helps. and no offense t o any one, or justin, i love justin, hes a great guy, but you can try to use your ring finger to help. not just one finger which can be tiring
[..YouTube..] Thanks buddy, you really do a good job at teaching and not showing off. It helps when you actually care that your audience can follow, and for that I applaud you. Btw, I remember your lesson on guitar amps, thanks friend.
[..YouTube..] Put super-glue on your finger tips, press them against your forearm, wait a few seconds and then rip them off your arm. I’m not joking! There’s this guitar player who does that cause he uses a gauge 12 for the top E string so he’s always wearing the skin down on his finger-tips.
[..YouTube..] Super-glue dries really quickly and really sticks so when you pull your fingers away the skin on your fore-arm stays stuck on your finger-tips. It’s just a way of restoring a layer of skin on your finger tips.
[..YouTube..] You just gotta suffer through man. Keep playing through the pain and calluses will come. Sometimes if I don’t play for a couple days then play a bunch, I’ll peel a bit, but its just skin getting stronger.
[..YouTube..] Thanks man! Hey I also have one more question. It is so hard to get both hands working simultateously when playing fast. What exercises can I do to improve my hands? Thanks!
[..YouTube..] Like he said in the video ( I think this one, I’m not rewatching it) get it slow, then slowly increase speed. Especially something repeatable like these patterns he’s teaching here. If you’ve got a metronome or something that makes a beat, it will really help you if you practice at a constant speed. Same thing as with your fingers, its repetition. You want the skill, put in the time.
[..YouTube..] my fingers cant move as fast as the picking hand. it’s so close, but after a second I start to hit the b string when my finger isn’t on the 15th fret yet.. are you sweeping the strings with the pick or using it in back and forth strokes?
[..YouTube..] hey thanks man alot i had no freaken idea how to stop that freaken noise when doing licks now i play my licks right and and ur one too awsume man total awsume!
[..YouTube..] Play scales and licks slowly using a metronome. After practising for a week, increase the metronome speed by about 10 bpm, and so on.
The important thing in playing fast is to start slow and gradually increase your speed. This way your coordination is built into muscle memory.
Resist the urge to speed the metronome up too much or to not practice with it at all.
[..YouTube..] when i hammer on the 15th fret on the second string then go to hammer the 15th on the 1st string i pull off and it sounds wrong any tips?
[..YouTube..] yes, you have to be very careful not to hit other strings when you are pulling off of a note and especially when you are changing strings. It is so easy to get that dreaded excess noise when you are on a high gain channel. Try playing the lick really slow until you can play it where it sounds right and continue to work it up to speed
[..YouTube..] you make a great job, i like what are you doing there. Now..i’m trying to make a beat for a song…..the beat i want to be with..guitar sounds …i kind of..alternativ rock
[..YouTube..] One thing that the guitar books always leave out is the importance of using your fingertips and fingers to mute the strings you aren’t playing. SRV was a master at this, and that’s why he could pick with so much force without making any unintentional sounds.
Will be really nice when the technology is widely available, and every guitar has the capabilities of the moog guitar (mutes strings for you) and true temperament fretting.
[..YouTube..] i’m a guy whose got slow fingers and i’m slow at hammering on and pulling off and i pick fast compared to my friends who don’t even play guitar, could i still get that way with practice?
[..YouTube..] dont worry man, first of all dont compare yourself to other people, and second of all just play slowly at first with metronome, and with practice everyday youll gain the speed, trust me i went through it XD
[..YouTube..] Randy Rhodes actually used that a lot. i dont remember which of his solos i picked that up off of. could never figure out if i was doing this correctly but apperantly i was just not quite as fast.
[..YouTube..] I just love this video, how amazing. If you are looking for a central point to watch guitar videos or want to learn the guitar then the place I visit most often is EASYSTRINGS (dot) INFO
[..YouTube..] from the 12 fret up using the 3rd finger is more conveient because the fret space gets smaller. Around the 5th fret area etc you can use the pinky or third finger,I use both depending on the lick.
[..YouTube..] Sorry for the irrelevant question, but will I be able to tune my el.guitar in drop c with 0.10-.046 gauge strings? :S Or bigger gauge is needed?
[..YouTube..] @DjTsakalos you can tune your guitar to whatever tunin you want with .10 gauge strings. i use .9 gauge but thats cause i’m comfortable with it. so the gauge depends on your comfortability.
[..YouTube..] I think a little bit bigger gauge is okay for drop c. ^^
I’ve .10-.46 for my drop d, so I would say you can use .10-.49. But I’m not sure. =)
PS: Sory for my bad english, I hope you can understand, what I wanted to say. ^^
[..YouTube..] I think this video is pretty good.
PLEASE go to my favs and click on SUBURBAN GUY ROCKIN OUT
he doesnt read music, really feels what he plays and improivses his songs as he goes along. the other 2 favs are him also ARIEL (awesome shredding) and ARIEL SIMANTOV (awesome sweeping) pls view comment and rate them as we think he deserves recognition .thanks everyone!
[..YouTube..] how do u not get unwanted noise when pulling off from a open b string? I tried to mute it out with my finger like in the video but still getting a clear sound? help plz!
[..YouTube..] how do you not get unwanted nosie when pulling off to a open b-string? I tried to mute it out like in the video but I still dont get a clean sound?
[..YouTube..] @SongXiii, my teacher charges £20 per hour, less than half price, same as every other rgt tutor you’ll find in the uk.
Just wondering why this guy thinks he can ask for £50
[..YouTube..] @bootneck712 Yea I understand, but no offense to your teacher, he is probably nowhere near as reputable as Justin is. The way I’ve learned to understand it, you shouldn’t be as worried about price. If you’re going to get excellent instruction (just check his videos to confirm that) that make you a much better player, then it’s worth it to spend that ”extra” money. Obviously people have budgets, and his prices are higher than average, but I personally would spend that much for his lessons. ~
[..YouTube..] @bootneck712 On another note, he gives enough away for free IMO, and he deserves to be making a decent amount of money for what he does charge for. The guy gives free lessons to the world, and a lot of them, AND they are good. Imagine what his private lessons are like. ~
Ok, enough kiss assing. Rock on brothers and sisters. |,,/
[..YouTube..] this guy is great!
incredible, i learned this so much faster then i ever could have done with other vids.
this guy let you learn everything you need. instead of a lot of other vids where you only get to see a few things.
[..YouTube..] hey im kind of new to electric guitar. i only know a few riffs and song parts but i have not ever had a lesson. can anyone give me some tips to make this a little easier for me? my hands are kind of small so i have to use my pinky for the hammer and flick which makes it kind of hard. i also need some help with my speed. whoever can help thanks alot!
[..YouTube..] @ionulzn your picking hand will develope slower than your other hand, thats prolly why right handed players play with their left hand, anyway you just need time and practice, play slow and clean, and the speed will come, and playing fast is honestly overrated, consentrate on the music!
[..YouTube..] @ionulzn just practice trust me with lots of practice every single day itll become very easy but most important is make it fun not torturous
[..YouTube..] @ionulzn However long it takes you the individual to get it down just don’t try to rush it. Practice it and get it down on a clean tone before you ever even plug into distortion. If you find yourself getting overly frustrated just play a song you know or just walk away a few minutes and go back to it.
ALSO what nazisthebest said is awsome advice.
[..YouTube..] thanks man ive heard that a million times abd have been trying to nail it down on my own but ive only been playing since dec. of 09 so this was really helpful
[..YouTube..] it takes 10 years to become master at guitar (not really master but you get my point) if you practice 3 hours a day it will take 10 years if you play 6 hours a day it will take you 5 years.THUMB THIS UP
[..YouTube..] 9:11-9:16 is almost light speed
Justin you are a great teacher i have done your beginners course and i think it turned out right for me:)
[..YouTube..] Awesome man! Thanks so much. The more I play it the faster it gets and I can keep it pretty clean aswell. I reckon in a week or two I’ll have it up to speed :>
[..YouTube..] Can someone help me eh?
When I leave the 15th note on the B string, my finger kind of pulls-off the note and the b note (open string) rings.
Is there any remedy for that? Any way of practice?
[..YouTube..] @EntanglementSatan Hey man, I had that same problem as well! It’s practice yeah, but I think you should trie to hammer on to the fretboard straight (I don’t know how to say that in English, I’m sorry)but with no angle you get it? That helped a lot for me. Hammer down straight
[..YouTube..] Hey just i little question if anyone can answer this please…. how important is it to use your 3rd finger to hammer on. It seems more natural to use my pinky, is this bad?
[..YouTube..] @sambenstead1 My friend, I whatever feels natural for you its ok. When I started playing I had mostly a classical education and I would agree with you. However I would recommend you to try it with your 3rd finger. There actually is a reason why you should play pentatonics with your third finger like Justin, or play the right hand tapping with your index like van halen (even if your think is correc t play them with your second finger so you dont have to release your pick)
[..YouTube..] @nichiryas
More like 3 years with all that just to get familiar and be a an expert. Doubt master. That title is for Justin here and all the other guitar lords.
[..YouTube..] idk about you guys? but like i can play that easily. but not at that speed (well obv.) but i feeel like the picking rythem is cumbersomeeee.
[..YouTube..] “Make sure all those things are really good before you try and speed it up otherwise you’re gonna be playing, well, you’ll play… Shit, really fast”
Hahaha you’re awesome at guitar dude, I wish I could play like you!
[..YouTube..] @MrDemonninja86 lol, learning is personal, some will learn something in 2 years that will just take 2 months for another guy. We are different:P
[..YouTube..] great lesson. I didnt come up with the idea of muting one of the string when you shred. I would probably break down this open door in next months or year even… So thank you a lot Sire!!
[..YouTube..] @MrDemonninja86 how long do you think it will take if you play 10 hours a day? ive been playing for 2 years & i used to only practice 2-3 hours a day..now i have more time on my hands & i started practicing at least 10 hours a day a few months ago
[..YouTube..] this is a great lesson. just don’t expect to do it in one day.
if your struggling with this i would suggest doing the same thing on the 3rd fret so you don’t have to worry about your index finger.
[..YouTube..] When he shows the different things you can do by messing about with it the first time it sound so much like from the Scream Aim Fire solo
[..YouTube..] My brother Markus Bott had been tortured during 5.5 years by the German BND,the former GESTAPO.I recorded more than 100 videotapes which ended up in the legal system. My brother was tortured 1.5 years while several legal procedures pending. He was assassinated on July 11th 2009 because of our homepage and our book Der Totalitäre Staat. If my homepage disappears, the BND will have assassinated me as well.BND snitchers are thumbing me down
So thumbs up if you want the BND to stop torturing my parents
[..YouTube..] gracias from argentina nico its my name friend !!! tank you very much !!! its excelent inspiration and demostrative very simple and practik demostration of hability from youre knowledge !!! tank you and keep in toch my fr
[..YouTube..] If you metalheads are looking for a real song to practice this on, the awesome intro lick to Peace Sells by Megadeth is played using this exact technique, pull up a tab and check it out!
[..YouTube..] You’re not showing what the right hand’s doing. I know I can figure it out, but well, maybe there’s a trick there you didn’t mention
Except for that point, awesome lesson :p
[..YouTube..] Awesomwe. How many time did you practice for to get that speed? In the last scale do you use always the pick or you play with “hammer on” too?
[..YouTube..] gah.. i can do the fingerings and stuff but when i lift off my finger to go to the next note the sound of the electric guitar will like.. ring or something. i dunno.. it sounds horrid.. gah.. anyone knows how to prevent that? so like when i lift my finger off the top string the note will still ring and it interferes with the next thing im playing..
[..YouTube..] belly91 – notice what I say about the first finger tip touching the 2nd string in this lick? – you need to do that all the time
[..YouTube..] john261187 – practice playing scales with a metronome and gradually build up the speed. Problem solved. See my web site under technique. Honest
J
[..YouTube..] Wow, I feel honoured to have a reply from the man himself! See you on T.V all the time with the Katie Melua Band…love it!
But I diverse, I shall do as you say and hopefully all shall be well. Cheers Justin!
[..YouTube..] great video Justin, can you confirm what the picking technique is for this?
[..YouTube..] he explains it in the vid
[..YouTube..] but he doesn’t say if it’s down or up picking and where on the lick
[..YouTube..] holy shit!
thanks
this riff roxx
[..YouTube..] I just cant get this up to speed. I get the left hand up to speed, but then my right hand messes up.
I need to see what your right hand is doing, how are you picking?, how are holding the pick?, we need to see this I think.
Thanks
[..YouTube..] Ahh..just read the info!..sorry
whats the best way to hold the pick for this?
[..YouTube..] justin is the best….cheers…i improve my guitar playing because of you…tnx u so much….
[..YouTube..] ROCK!!!
[..YouTube..] he does, read the description again,if you had done it before, you would have known that he use down picking
[..YouTube..] TA
[..YouTube..] Good lesson. ive been doin stuff like this with blues licks.
[..YouTube..] TA ?? What does it mean ??
[..YouTube..] english slang for thank you
[..YouTube..] its just alt picking see an alt picking exercise that should explain the up down picking he will be doing with his right hand
it will be down on the E string, Up on The B String well thats how i play it anyway
[..YouTube..] I have to improve my English
, anyway you’re welcome
[..YouTube..] Hi Justin! KATIE MELUA was in Sweden this friday performing on a Show called Fredag hela veckan (friday all week), were you there? I couldt see you! Rock
[..YouTube..] thx for that lesson dude
[..YouTube..] means thankyou. Ta, cheers, etc
Thanks.
[..YouTube..] you the man,boy nice stuff
[..YouTube..] I agree with the tab idea. That would be a nice addition
[..YouTube..] nice i liked that a lot! I really cant stop doing it now i am starting to go your speed!!
[..YouTube..] dumb video, check out the sex profile link in my profile, I’m 23 f hot
[..YouTube..] Why pay for lessons? Cause good teachers like Justin will notice faults before you do wish could have taken u months or even years to discover yourself. So it saves alot of time if u have a good teacher.
[..YouTube..] many cheers sir
[..YouTube..] btw.. nice ring man.. hehe
[..YouTube..] i love shit played really fast.
[..YouTube..] nice one justin thanks
[..YouTube..] I love your Mesa man
[..YouTube..] Another great lesson. Thank you! PS I like how the video can’t really keep up with how fast you’re playing…
[..YouTube..] sweet video. i think i might need to try this one out!
[..YouTube..] Thanks again justin.. A little request here, can u put up a lesson on sweeping?
u the man….thx J!!!!
[..YouTube..] sounds like kirk hammett´s stuff on kill em all
[..YouTube..] Cool Video, check out the link in my profile. I have my WEBCAM live running most of the time on that website, being nauwghty
[..YouTube..] Cool Video, check out the link in my profile. I have my WEBCAM live running most of the time on that website, being nauwghty
[..YouTube..] hey justin man.i have the same shoes but not the same skill
[..YouTube..] Thanks man I was looking for new ideas for licks and damn its like you read my mind.
[..YouTube..] hi, had been very useful to be able to see the right hand..thanks
[..YouTube..] big thx this i have search
[..YouTube..] ill sound like that when i have been playing for 20 years too!
[..YouTube..] when i get a guitar i’m gonna watch your video to learn how to to play because they are really helpful
[..YouTube..] Speed is actually pretty damn important. If you don’t have good speed techniques forget playing any good metal riffs.
This lesson is very helpful, I will be practicing with this a lot. Thanks!
[..YouTube..] thanks:)
[..YouTube..] nice and useful
[..YouTube..] at 3:23 seconds it sounds like he say fuck
[..YouTube..] It really looks like it=D
[..YouTube..] Cool Video, check out the link in my profile. I have my WEBCAM live running most of the time on that website, being nauwghty
[..YouTube..] This lesson’s freakin good!! Now I can do that fast thing he does!! I’m only 12!!
[..YouTube..] execelet lesson as always
[..YouTube..] In my own opinon these licks are kind of boring to play. I agree with Codyremo eventhou speed can be a good thing to have. Tempo changes make music much more intresting. Anyway, the key to speed is this: Get a metronome, start at a slow tempo, and start training while you slowly speed up. Let it take months if it has to, even.
[..YouTube..] dumb video, check out the sex profile link in my profile, I’m 23 f hot
[..YouTube..] yes but why would he “accidently fuck the second string”?
[..YouTube..] im not sure maybe cuz he has a small dick
[..YouTube..] lmfao leave the guy alone he puts out great vids
[..YouTube..] Hey man you’re really thorough in your examples…. excellent work.
[..YouTube..] dumb video, check out the sex profile link in my profile, I’m 23 f hot
[..YouTube..] Nice Video, check out the website link in my profile. I have my naked pics and video which youtube doesn’t allow, where I’m being naughty
[..YouTube..] Thanks for your time and patience
lovely lesson 5stars
[..YouTube..] DUDE i improved BIG TIME cos of u, i wish i could make a donation, but i’m minor =’( sorry dude
[..YouTube..] Fantastic demonstration. Say, those left hand nails are getting a bit long, huh?
[..YouTube..] ahh it hurts my 3rd finger
[..YouTube..] i dont no if you no but ur helping every 1! rock on
[..YouTube..] thanks you’re really helping me out i thought i was a gonner with guitar
[..YouTube..] Amen, thank you my friend, you just taught me something here i probably would have spent months trying to learn. God bless you. The bes t things in life really are free. =)
[..YouTube..] for some reason your low e string looks like its almost off the neck. thanks for the lesson justin!!
[..YouTube..] think ill need some practice to go that fast lol
[..YouTube..] Why dont you use your pinky as the second note is three positions away?
[..YouTube..] man , you are cool…
[..YouTube..] Great Stuff!
[..YouTube..] Man,awesome video…
Thx for the video
[..YouTube..] thanks alot!! ur the no. 1 man
[..YouTube..] I use a fender blue bullet
[..YouTube..] you’ll play “shit” really fast!!! thats great!!!!!!! great teacher
[..YouTube..] you’ll play “shit” really fast!!! thats great!!!!!!! great teacher
[..YouTube..] Your fast! and thanks, this helped me alot.
[..YouTube..] It’s a matter of preference, but up on the neck where the frets are closer it is much more sesible to do it that way.
[..YouTube..] That makes sence, I’m trying to use my pinky more these days, I think it’s an advantage, but hey, it does sound bad the way you do it
[..YouTube..] hey this video is awesome you are an excellent teacher!!
[..YouTube..] Your really not as great as everyone thinks you are.
[..YouTube..] Slipknot, after seeing your video, it’s to bad your mother did’nt abort you……
Keep up the good work Justin, I watch all your videos….You’ve taught me alot,

[..YouTube..] he never said that he was an amazing guitarist or better than anybody else. he is teaching, if u think ur better than him then why r u watching?
[..YouTube..] this vid is awesome. He explains the task clearly so its easy to understand…Great teacher!

[..YouTube..] looks really kool, gonna try it out soon.
thx
[..YouTube..] wtf is that thing at the end of your video, a badger? its quite pissed off about something. P.S. great lessons, you’re a very versatile player/teacher
[..YouTube..] Thanks for your advice. I have been playing guitar for many years but I have not tried the fast guitar licks before. Could anyone tell me how many hours of practice one has to put in to acheive satisfactory speed licks ?
[..YouTube..] Thanks for your advice. I have been playing guitar for many years but I have not tried the fast guitar licks before. Could anyone tell me how many hours of practice one has to put in to acheive satisfactory speed licks ?

thank you
check out my videos if you like
[..YouTube..] hey justin, just stopping by to say i love your videos you are a very good teacher!
[..YouTube..] great vid. keep striving to change the world.-xavier
[..YouTube..] Very well explained. How long does it usually take to get up to speed, ive been trying for months and im still slow as hell lol.
[..YouTube..] I have been practice a f*****g lot and i am slow at this!!!!!
[..YouTube..] somthing that will help you out BIG time is a metronome (how ever you spell that). I noticed a HUUGE increase in my speed at picking and at hammer-ons and pull-offs when i started practicing with one. It also makes it more fun and challenging to practice, cuz you dial up the speed and try to keep up with it for a good 5 mins. at a time

[..YouTube..] you’ll play shit really fast!! I like how you say metal with a cockney accent too! I wish I could afford you to be my mentor, the videos will do me for now tho
[..YouTube..] how the fuck do u play that fast man u gotta teach us how to pick like that too man plz.

[..YouTube..] its about practicing, discipline and a metronom
[..YouTube..] shit your good….
[..YouTube..] shit your good….
[..YouTube..] Lol you should stop playing acoustic and concentrate on electric if you can do this stuff!!
[..YouTube..] Because your not hitting the string hard enough. Your saying your pressing the string, you need to HAMMER that shit.
Like Justin said in the vid go to his finger gym vid for help

[..YouTube..] Hi, Im really enjoying your videos and im learning a lot from them, but i have one question. How do you get that sound of distortion that you have? I have a boss MD2 mega distortion pedal and a relatively old peavey practice amp. Is there any way i can get this sound with them or will i need to buy something else? Thanks alot for your help, your videos are great and very helpful!
[..YouTube..] this is one of the best things on the internet whoooo i have learnt loads
[..YouTube..] this is one of the best things on the internet whoooo i have learnt loads
[..YouTube..] cheers dudes. I am an Aussie but liked in uk for 10 years.
Sound lessons coming soon, i did make one, but it sucked so I have to make it again.
The Finger Gym is the way forward for developing your finger strength to get these things happening…
Good luck dudes. J
[..YouTube..] dude i cant get my ryt and left hands in sync 2gether so i just pick all the notes in like a shredding kinda way… what do i do?
[..YouTube..] albhstar, i don’t know it someone already answered ur question or not so i’ll try to help: don’t just press down on the fret. like he said REALLY try to hammer down on it and hopefully it will get better for you. and after a while it becomes a lot easier
[..YouTube..] bbushraa and anyone one else wondering how he’s plays so fast…. is really because he’s probably been playing a long time (probably multiple years) but this is beginners fast licks so in a little while, or a few months, you’ll probably find it it’s not that hard
[..YouTube..] bbushraa and anyone one else wondering how he’s plays so fast…. is really because he’s probably been playing a long time (probably multiple years) but this is beginners fast licks so in a little while, or a few months, you’ll probably find it it’s not that hard

[..YouTube..] it’s preety much like the paranoid solo
[..YouTube..] whay a pedal with the Mesa its a bit of a waste and makes the guitar sound thin
[..YouTube..] looking forward to the new videos

[..YouTube..] Great Lesson. Sometimes I wish though people would show the picking hand technique. Picking this in compact precise movements is key also. But awesome lesson. I always learn alot from him.

[..YouTube..] Great lesson, as all are… but please cut your fingernails…
[..YouTube..] dude you have no idea how much this helped me
thanks for this
[..YouTube..] Are you doing some kind of legato on 1:05?
[..YouTube..] For metal licks, it’s definitely easier to hammer on with an electric with the distortion cranked up, but it’s also still possible with an acoustic…hammer-ons generally sounds more clear as you travel down the neck on an acoustic, since you don’t have to hit as hard with the spaced-out frets.

[..YouTube..] It can be used for other genres. Open your mind and you might find a way to use that in some form of muic or another
[..YouTube..] Me too, but I found a secret cheat, that I addictively use – It actually helps train your fingers for pull offs (flick offs) in the end, anyway.
What you do is, instead of trying to pull the string up with you, pull it downward, as if you were trying to hit the next string (just don’t hit the next string lol). Try that on your e string (the tiny one) with the riff Justin shows us. It works.
[..YouTube..] Very well played & a very effective lick to master.
Your suggestions on the muting idle strings was very helpful.
This reminds me of early Gary Moore.

[..YouTube..] I use 2.0 pick
[..YouTube..] that’s a thick ass pick.
Damien – I recommend start with 1.0, get a thicker pick and a thinner pick, and if you like one over the other, go in that direction until you find what works for you. .80′s are real popular in metal. I like 1.0′s

[..YouTube..] Congratulations! You now know ALL of Zakk Wylde’s solos!
Great video Justin, I’m really glad I found out about you. A LIFE saver.
[..YouTube..] I saw this vid a month or two ago, and have been practicing it every once in the while, and it have helped me speed up my fingers for solos that i haven’t been able to play before!
Thank you, justin!

[..YouTube..] strangely enough, the name zakk wylde kept popping into my head all the time i was watching this
[..YouTube..] HAHAHAHA what the hell is that animal doing at the end?
anyway, how long will i have to practice this before i start to get quick? my fingers just cant hack it at the minute.

[..YouTube..] thanx i feel like Zakk Wylde now
seriously though it helped

[..YouTube..] Just keep on practicing…it’ll come on it’s own soon. Anyway this lick isn’t too hard so it shouldn’t take that long to learn.

[..YouTube..] nicely put mate..
[..YouTube..] Nicely done! what kind of guitar is that?
[..YouTube..] dnt no if this will help ne1, but i find it alot easyer if u hammer the note on the b string rather than pickin it.
[..YouTube..] May you prosper in all you do. Thanks for your help!!1
[..YouTube..] thanx alot dude
[..YouTube..] helppp i dont get it
[..YouTube..] its all got to do with personal preference. some ppl prefer thicker, personally i prefer medium +-0.7-0.8. Also can depend on the style u playing. i say for stuff like metal thicker picks(1mm) would be better, especially if u doing stuff like pitch harmonics and fast picking. Accoustic, yo would probably be better off using a thin pick..
[..YouTube..] its a fender stratocaster.
[..YouTube..] dont get the “pick pick” part..
[..YouTube..] Which part don’t you get?
[..YouTube..] I get the pick hammer flick pick part.. then i get out of rythem when i have to pick again on de high e string..
[..YouTube..] I get the pick hammer flick pick part.. then i get out of rythem when i have to pick again on de high e string..
[..YouTube..] Pick down on the first string and hit the first note (12th fret), then hammer on to the next note (15th fret), Flick, and then pick up on the next string.
so it would be PICK – Hammer – Flick – PICK.
down pick, hammer, flick, up pick on the next string.

[..YouTube..] Woops replied to the wrong one.
You’ll just have to practice to get that. Make sure to start off slowly, Dont rush it!
[..YouTube..] i know thanks
but the rythem.. i can’t do that.. when i do the same down pick, hammer, flick, up pick on the next string again..
[..YouTube..] damn my crappy cheap guitar.. the high e string keep getting stuck after I flick it xD

[..YouTube..] that’s sweet! I just started like a week ago, and you’ve been a great help so far. I don’t think I’m ready for this just yet, though
[..YouTube..] yeah they are the same
[..YouTube..] is the picking direction important really?
[..YouTube..] whats up with the end? lololol
[..YouTube..] whats up with the end? lololol
[..YouTube..] alternate picking should be observed strictly (up down up down up down). This will allow you to maintain proper rhythm as things get faster and more complicated. That said, whether you start with an up or a down will often depend on what you want to do, or not matter at all in some cases.

[..YouTube..] how long have you been playin?
[..YouTube..] lol good point hehe.
[..YouTube..] is it wrong if i’m picking UP on the first note and then picking DOWN on the second??

I’ve been playing guitar for years, trying to get better without lessons. It’s been a slow slow process. This lesson and your blues lead lesson are helping me break out of the same old patterns on my ‘licks’ (for lack of a better term).
I appreciate your simple and easy-to-understand approach to teaching.
Many thanks.

[..YouTube..] Youre So good….
i love you, Even though i’m A Boy….
[..YouTube..] Justin… this has helped so much. Until i learnt this about 4 weeks ago, my band at school (i’m 13) said i needed to improve soloing, bu using this and some of ur blues licks with a rock setting, i have developed my soloing and become extremely good.
[..YouTube..] i am seventeen and i started playing guitar about a month ago..is it too late for me? =(
[..YouTube..] never:-) depends how much time you put into it.
[..YouTube..] dude its not too late ive started one year ago im now 20… and im really happy with results
[..YouTube..] That’s a cool lick. But throwing the 9th in doesn’t make it dorian or mixolydian as you say at 4:20. It’d just be natural minor.

[..YouTube..] Tom Scholtz from the band Boston picked up guitar as a sophomore in college (age 20)
[..YouTube..] When your playing the lick fast, if you mute the second string and accidently pick it too early then it won’t bugger up the sound. Your only suppose to pick the second string at the fifteenth fret. Hope that helps
[..YouTube..] lots of famous guitarist started in their twenties.
[..YouTube..] damn
[..YouTube..] damn
[..YouTube..] im havin a prob with the 2nd note hammer on. it jus doesnt ring out like it should. What am i doin wrong?
[..YouTube..] im havin a prob with the 2nd note hammer on. it jus doesnt ring out like it should. What am i doin wrong?

[..YouTube..] for those guys out there practicing this
I have beeen trying this for a couple of months
It works….!!!!
just dont give up!!!!
[..YouTube..] nice vid. ive been tryin to play this lick but my fingers arent fast enough yet… how long did it take to play it fast?
[..YouTube..] Ive been practising this for over a year and I’m still slow. Tip to all begginers out there, don’t buy a guitar that has a huge ass wide neck if you have really small fingers. And even though light strings snap all the time, you cant shred without them.
[..YouTube..] ah im having trouble doing the rythym right
[..YouTube..] the ending is class ^^
[..YouTube..] lol!
[..YouTube..] oh!! yes yes yes very very very guitarra rapido
[..YouTube..] ur fingers r faster than a computer i guess. 5/5
Keep Rocking!!! (And teach us to rock too!)
[..YouTube..] Really helpful! Nice job of explaining and playing it out. Thanks!
[..YouTube..] Use a metronome and practice 10 hours a day then youll play like GOD.
[..YouTube..] ohhhhhhhhhh yehhhhhhhhhhhhh good
[..YouTube..] very nice, and very usefull, again lol
you guys rock
lol
[..YouTube..] tip: for the first few times you play it, take a scrunchy or a long sock and tie it around the lower part of the neck to mute the strings and practice it that way
[..YouTube..] These are the best guitar tuorials on the net – friendly, funny, slow and easy for beginners, and very very thorough!
[..YouTube..] :0 JUSTIN SAID A NAUGHTY WORD!!!!
[..YouTube..] Pick hammer Flick Pick Flick pick flick?!?!?!?!
[..YouTube..] omg he said a NAUGHTY WORD[2] xD
Yeah, I want to play good really fast
[..YouTube..] i can’t play this slow nevermind fast
im never going to be able to play good
[..YouTube..] If you think like that then you are probably right…
Get out of that mind set and keep trying.
Those that say they cant only limit them selves..
[..YouTube..] IM GONNA FLAG THIS VIDEO
[..YouTube..] So you think Yngwie, Satriani, Paul Gilbert and countless other virutosos are noobs? Yeah right, you might aswell just put than opinion where it belongs: your cornhole.
[..YouTube..] good job
[..YouTube..] your mom is for noobs
[..YouTube..] your mom is for noobs

[..YouTube..] Cool
[..YouTube..] lol
[..YouTube..] holy shit
[..YouTube..] damn cool lick you actuly tot me somethen

[..YouTube..] haha 1:25 gnarley fuck dood, great shred!!
[..YouTube..] thanks jus!
[..YouTube..] Thanks Justin thats great! Your so helpfull
[..YouTube..] great vid man. few hours of training and that is it!
[..YouTube..] i agree. i hear a lot of licks played fast over and over again & i’m thinkin how r they doin that. now i know….Craig
[..YouTube..] Justin you Rule!! 5Stars
[..YouTube..] did randy roads use the first lick
[..YouTube..] yeh, that riff is very similar than the beginning of the 2nd solo on the son “Mr. Crowley”, of Ozzy Osbourne
[..YouTube..] ok i half take it back You don’t have to use a pick but if you learn how to use a pick as well as finger pick you will be much better. even people like tommy emanuel who finger pick use the picks that slip over there fingers and he can play awsome stuff with the normal way of holding a pick
[..YouTube..] my pinkie is too short for the pick at the 6th string, 15th fret
[..YouTube..] Theres a very good example of this technique towards the end of 22 Acacia Avenue by Iron Maiden, i’m not sure if it’s done the same way, but it certainly sounds like it.
[..YouTube..] legit lesson
[..YouTube..] Shit really fast love it pal say it how it is
keep up the good work cheers…
[..YouTube..] OMFG thank you so much for your help justin
Much appreciated !
[..YouTube..] This is incredibly helpful for beginner and advanced guitarists alike. Everyone has little stumbles they get stuck on and he seems to help with them all.
[..YouTube..] love your way of teaching you don’t do to much talking and you get to licks!!!!! keep up the good work.. more more!!!!!
[..YouTube..] Thank You Justin! These are amazing lessons, unlike that garbage they sell on ebay! If you made a cd, I would buy it right now!
[..YouTube..] thats not for beginers lol so hard but awsome
[..YouTube..] Hey Man you got 5 stars from me,this is an Very Excellant IDEA for Beginning Students and Players,Thumbs up to you Bro.!!!!!!!!!!!!
[..YouTube..] 0.0
[..YouTube..] Thanks, Justin.
[..YouTube..] lol, just cause it says beginners dosent mean there guna just start playing it, they can practice it =]!
[..YouTube..] nice mesa justin
[..YouTube..] always like these videos! great instructor =D
[..YouTube..] dude…….. you are fuckin awesome.
[..YouTube..] dude… how do you know so much about guitar man?
[..YouTube..] justi you are the besth tanks ….from dominican republic
[..YouTube..] i had always been wondering how this was done. turns out easy to do but u just have to play fast and clean. great man.
[..YouTube..] I Enjoyed Learning Your Patterns. Very Nice Indeed.I Really Just Want To Say Thanks Again
[..YouTube..] you should hammer on with the 4th finger, otherwise then you get lazy, and when you need the 4th finger you have no control.
[..YouTube..] dudeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
thank you very much for this little but very very USEFUL TIP!!!!!!!!!!!
I really appreciate that!!
[..YouTube..] thanks bro! but i got a little question. how long i have to practise with this and get fast as you show?
[..YouTube..] plessse answer me!
[..YouTube..] man, you are the guitar master. every you need a help to play guitar, just search : justinsandercoe.
i’m so sorry, my english was so bad man, : P
[..YouTube..] Thanks Justin
[..YouTube..] thnx
[..YouTube..] There is no specific time in getting this. Just be patient and practice all the time. You will be greatly rewarded with your efforts.
.
[..YouTube..] How does somebody so good, sound so nice and humble? Lol! Great lesson man. Thanks.
[..YouTube..] you’ll play shit really fast! hahahahaaaa!
[..YouTube..] thank you
[..YouTube..] This lick simply part was in paranoid solo
[..YouTube..] AH shits hard i play my guitar upside down (lefty with a righty) i can get most of the lick but not all of it but it still helped dude thanks
[..YouTube..] hahahaha. hmm..
[..YouTube..] can i strap sausages to my fingers and play this?……..
[..YouTube..] once you speed it up a little it gets fairly quick…hmmm
[..YouTube..] sounds like Paul Gilbert
[..YouTube..] damn he hasent cut his nails when he did this video xD xD xD
[..YouTube..] only tomato sauce, the rest doesn’t work very well
[..YouTube..] mmmm… i’ll try it…only got chipolatas at the moment tho…..hope they work…ha ha…
[..YouTube..] hey man turn your nut around and string your geetar upside down like jimi!
[..YouTube..] Thats very Dave Mustaine Esque in His Holy wars Solo at the end
[..YouTube..] Too much bother. Then you’re constantly checking the set up. Best thing is to buy a dedicated Lefty. Remember a guitar’s body is braced especially for a righty or a lefty. Just my opinion. Happy Jammin’!
[..YouTube..] Damn I can’t do this :/
[..YouTube..] Man his nails are so long!!
[..YouTube..] talk less…
[..YouTube..] thx for that vid m8 very nicely done
[..YouTube..] Very good!
[..YouTube..] thnx man…your video lesson help me a lot..keep.keep on rockin..
[..YouTube..] YEAH! i like that kind of thing!
[..YouTube..] Justin Your THE man.
It means alot to us veiwers for you to take time out of your day to do this for FREE.
Thanks man
[..YouTube..] thanks a lot justin it helped me a lot
[..YouTube..] basic lick, but you did a great job for explanation, getting right to the point,
[..YouTube..] God bless you, man. Thanks to your video I’ve been able to play tonite like I’ve always wanted for years.
Cheers!
Antonio
[..YouTube..] Good Tip in the End.
Dont play SHIT really fast, play GOOD really fast XD
[..YouTube..] whats flick?
pease someone reply!!!!
[..YouTube..] He uses that expression for pull-off
[..YouTube..] yo your a really sick teacher i learned a to from you in 30 minutes thanks man, i’ll be tunning in!
[..YouTube..] NIcely done Justin. Well taught
[..YouTube..] this is awesome lesson thanks
[..YouTube..] he likes to have long nails
[..YouTube..] the picking totally throws me. Strange how I’ve played for 3 years and never used this technique.
[..YouTube..] It’s also called a pull-off. It’s where your finger is already down on the fret, and you “flick” or “pull” off the string, more or less picking it with your left-hand. This saves time for the right-hand to switch into another position.
[..YouTube..] thanks for these lessons dude, its really cool of you to take time out and do this
[..YouTube..] its a pull off while at the same time hitting the string to cause a vibration…
[..YouTube..] dude i got it!! but my fingers will not move that fast….at the moment
[..YouTube..] thanks for sharing Justin, for people like me can not afford guitar lesson.
[..YouTube..] hope thiss helps. and no offense t o any one, or justin, i love justin, hes a great guy, but you can try to use your ring finger to help. not just one finger which can be tiring
[..YouTube..] wtf is up with the tazmanian devil at the end? But awesome lesson btw i think i got it down (slowly)
[..YouTube..] thanks … very well explained
[..YouTube..] Is there a tab to this I kinda got lost^_^ i tried your website but I can’t find it there. Plz help someone;)
[..YouTube..] play shit really fast lol
[..YouTube..] lol thats the same thing kirk hammett does all the time
if you listen to his solos, you will hear that all the time! good video (:
[..YouTube..] find a pentatonic pattern, its all based on that
[..YouTube..] Cheers man I already tabbed it;)
[..YouTube..] Maybe he didn’t explain clearly, but this is standard tuning, key of E minor. It’s good to know licks, but you need to know Why, also.
Good lesson.
[..YouTube..] Thank you
[..YouTube..] Nice, Thanks!
[..YouTube..] now on christmas i suprise my folks whith new guitar thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[..YouTube..] Thanks buddy, you really do a good job at teaching and not showing off. It helps when you actually care that your audience can follow, and for that I applaud you. Btw, I remember your lesson on guitar amps, thanks friend.
[..YouTube..] Hey guys, my skin always peels off when I’m doing flick offs and bending, what should I do? It hurts and it is annoying…
[..YouTube..] I don’t understand…
[..YouTube..] Super-glue dries really quickly and really sticks so when you pull your fingers away the skin on your fore-arm stays stuck on your finger-tips. It’s just a way of restoring a layer of skin on your finger tips.
[..YouTube..] Thanks! But is there any other easier way?
[..YouTube..] don’t be ridiculous!
[..YouTube..] It’s true! I can’t remember the name of the guy but it’s what he does when he wears down the skin on his finger tips.
Thanks!
[..YouTube..] goto pentatonic form samson to learn it, coz it based from that
[..YouTube..] Like he said in the video ( I think this one, I’m not rewatching it) get it slow, then slowly increase speed. Especially something repeatable like these patterns he’s teaching here. If you’ve got a metronome or something that makes a beat, it will really help you if you practice at a constant speed. Same thing as with your fingers, its repetition. You want the skill, put in the time.
[..YouTube..] thanks guys! you guys helped me a lot! I am asking these things because I am self-learning to play electric guitar…
[..YouTube..] nice stuff justin
[..YouTube..] the licks sound like brutal legend’s solos
[..YouTube..] Whoops, I gave him the same piece of advice without seeing your comment.
[..YouTube..] hey one question how can i be more fast in the left hand
att- net6619
[..YouTube..] Кароль покеж подвес
[..YouTube..] lol 9:51
[..YouTube..] cut ur nails man
[..YouTube..] long nails like that help alot when u finger pic
[..YouTube..] i was talking about his left hand’s nails bro
[..YouTube..] @netoneto666
Are we assuming you already know alternate picking?
[..YouTube..] sounds like master exploder in Tenacious D!!
[..YouTube..] cortate las uñas…
[..YouTube..] SIIIICK! This is gonna help me alot!! Cheers! XD
[..YouTube..] aprendate INGLES….
[..YouTube..] Камрад, сам научись сначала и не позорь род человеческий.
[..YouTube..] hulk hogans daughter rocks and she is cool and she is the best singer in the world ==> hoganbrooke(.)com
[..YouTube..] thanks bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[..YouTube..] wow has really helped a lot!!
[..YouTube..] who thought this was negative comment tenacious d kicks ass! its a compliment
[..YouTube..] lol i know i wrote it as a compliment and some guy gives a thumbs down wth? lol
[..YouTube..] when i hammer on the 15th fret on the second string then go to hammer the 15th on the 1st string i pull off and it sounds wrong any tips?
[..YouTube..] u are fucking amazing
u make me misrrabel
[..YouTube..] yes, you have to be very careful not to hit other strings when you are pulling off of a note and especially when you are changing strings. It is so easy to get that dreaded excess noise when you are on a high gain channel. Try playing the lick really slow until you can play it where it sounds right and continue to work it up to speed
[..YouTube..] check out my videos!
[..YouTube..] if you do this on the first 2 string all the way to the first ur gona get the beginning of peace sells by megadeth
[..YouTube..] you make a great job, i like what are you doing there. Now..i’m trying to make a beat for a song…..the beat i want to be with..guitar sounds
…i kind of..alternativ rock
[..YouTube..] One thing that the guitar books always leave out is the importance of using your fingertips and fingers to mute the strings you aren’t playing. SRV was a master at this, and that’s why he could pick with so much force without making any unintentional sounds.
Will be really nice when the technology is widely available, and every guitar has the capabilities of the moog guitar (mutes strings for you) and true temperament fretting.
[..YouTube..] lol the ending is the best
[..YouTube..] wow, I learned so much in such a short period of time, excellent video, thanks so much.
[..YouTube..] inpossible man
[..YouTube..] is this for beginners lol??
[..YouTube..] ahahahah xD i can just “QUOTE” and do anything else .
to much fast. XD
[..YouTube..] yes. its for beginners
like us!
dont be so dependent with metronome:) use your head. hahaha!
[..YouTube..] Randy Rhodes actually used that a lot. i dont remember which of his solos i picked that up off of. could never figure out if i was doing this correctly but apperantly i was just not quite as fast.
[..YouTube..] @MercedesCars454 Yeah sure. Just remember ur nt in a race so keep goin slow till u get it rock solid. Dont ignore mistakes. Then pick up
[..YouTube..] excellent class
[..YouTube..] random bear o_o
that was a good lesson =)
[..YouTube..] i didnt know fingers could move that fast! o_O
[..YouTube..] why is there a random tasmanian devil @ the end goin ahhhhhhhhhhhh ehhhhhhhhhhh
[..YouTube..] xD thats ain’t a Lick this is just Another “Pentatonic”
what is just Played fast xD nothing else
[..YouTube..] I just love this video, how amazing. If you are looking for a central point to watch guitar videos or want to learn the guitar then the place I visit most often is EASYSTRINGS (dot) INFO
[..YouTube..] your fingers goes so fast!!! icredible!! i play for two years now, i can t even play it on half speed:P
great guitarist!!
[..YouTube..] ive been playing for a month yet my fingers are still peeling…
[..YouTube..] if i correct it was used in crazy train solo
[..YouTube..] hey man at about 130 do you mean to do it kinda like triplets? when you go from high to low.
[..YouTube..] widdleing?
[..YouTube..] how would you do this with finger picking?
[..YouTube..] can anyone tell me why he is using his 3rd finger instead of his pinky??!
[..YouTube..] from the 12 fret up using the 3rd finger is more conveient because the fret space gets smaller. Around the 5th fret area etc you can use the pinky or third finger,I use both depending on the lick.
[..YouTube..] a month isn’t enough time to become good at all. keep playing
[..YouTube..] Sorry for the irrelevant question, but will I be able to tune my el.guitar in drop c with 0.10-.046 gauge strings? :S Or bigger gauge is needed?
[..YouTube..] haha i can say i only have 1%talent so i should have a 99% effort ahahaha…
[..YouTube..] @DjTsakalos you can tune your guitar to whatever tunin you want with .10 gauge strings. i use .9 gauge but thats cause i’m comfortable with it. so the gauge depends on your comfortability.
[..YouTube..] All together now: Pick, Hammer, Flick, Pick. Repeat that while you play it and it will help you get the pattern down pat.
[..YouTube..] Good teacher! Simple & fun techniques.
Man, my fingers are pooped! Thanks for the work out!!
[..YouTube..] @LtdMusic i guess some people are just more comfortable with using their 3rd finger higher up the fretboard. i use my 3rd too : ) lol
[..YouTube..] go bigger. itll sound like shit if you use 10s cause theyll be too loose.
[..YouTube..] muy bueno tio!!!
[..YouTube..] what type of pick do you use?
[..YouTube..] Looks like Jude Law. Awesome lesson also.
[..YouTube..] it the rock star guy from lost
[..YouTube..] it doen´t matter : P
[..YouTube..] omg nice
[..YouTube..] what pedal is that?
[..YouTube..] hmmm, good teacher, but go look on his web site, for private lessons he wants £50 for an hour! Dirty bstard
[..YouTube..] I been praticing this lick for months now and its actually easier for me to do solos now. Thx Justin
[..YouTube..] @bootneck712 Oh no he charges real money for his lessons. Preposterous!!!
[..YouTube..] @SongXiii, my teacher charges £20 per hour, less than half price, same as every other rgt tutor you’ll find in the uk.
Just wondering why this guy thinks he can ask for £50
[..YouTube..] am i crazy or has this guy a strong english accent?
[..YouTube..] hey whats the picking pattern is it up down up down?
Rock on brothers and sisters. |,,/
[..YouTube..] less talking please..
[..YouTube..] guitar god^^!
[..YouTube..] AWESOME!
[..YouTube..] @BrownPeopleGetUp thats what she said?
[..YouTube..] this guy is great!
incredible, i learned this so much faster then i ever could have done with other vids.
this guy let you learn everything you need. instead of a lot of other vids where you only get to see a few things.
[..YouTube..] Thanks for sharing your skillz! JEDI you’re doing an awesome job too!
[..YouTube..] @cameop3 alternate picking
[..YouTube..] @randomaccount37 I think it is a Boss BD-2 Blues Driver pedal.. Not so sure
[..YouTube..] Wow…. VERY nice video. It’s already improving my speed. Thanks
!
[..YouTube..] man your the best
[..YouTube..] Ur the best guitar teacher!! thank you so much….for sharing ur expert skills…!!

[..YouTube..] this is easy and sounds very good
[..YouTube..] Best piece of advice anyone could ever give
[..YouTube..] I like this teacher ths
[..YouTube..] cool man you rocks!!
[..YouTube..] man, you make this stuff so much easier than I thought it was. Thanks
[..YouTube..] your great!
[..YouTube..] a distortion pedal on a MESA! not needed sir…
[..YouTube..] could you put up an ascending pentatonic lick, justin?
[..YouTube..] So you end up like something like this. *Shreds my face off* That sort of thing.
[..YouTube..] sounds very zakk wyldish
[..YouTube..] I used to play heaps of repeating rock licks, then I forgot most of them when I discovered alternate picking… lol
[..YouTube..] why do you put that white tape looking stuff on your headstock????
[..YouTube..] thanks a ton dude!
[..YouTube..] Thats awesome sounds like some page stuff
[..YouTube..] hey im kind of new to electric guitar. i only know a few riffs and song parts but i have not ever had a lesson. can anyone give me some tips to make this a little easier for me? my hands are kind of small so i have to use my pinky for the hammer and flick which makes it kind of hard. i also need some help with my speed. whoever can help thanks alot!
[..YouTube..] Thank God for you! I’ve been looking for resources to learn my electric guitar.
Please make many more lessons! Wooot!
[..YouTube..] nice guitar i got the same colour
[..YouTube..] heheh… flick it off…
[..YouTube..] question ! why does my picking hand tend to move very slow while doing this ? please reply. thanks
[..YouTube..] @ionulzn ummm you probably just need practice I cant do it fast either.
[..YouTube..] @ionulzn your picking hand will develope slower than your other hand, thats prolly why right handed players play with their left hand, anyway you just need time and practice, play slow and clean, and the speed will come, and playing fast is honestly overrated, consentrate on the music!
[..YouTube..] @rEptiLeKitChen so, all i have to do is keep practising ? cuz my right hand moves rather slow and I tend to lose patience
[..YouTube..] @ionulzn yes, exactly. just practice, slow. and you will improve every day
[..YouTube..] @rEptiLeKitChen well, lots of thanks from NW Romania
)
[..YouTube..] O.o …..wow……umm……..yeah…….
[..YouTube..] I follow you
[..YouTube..] how much time does it take to learn this things, anyway ?
[..YouTube..] wat tuning did u use?
keep those lessons coming up
plz answer ASAP thnx
[..YouTube..] @ionulzn just practice trust me with lots of practice every single day itll become very easy but most important is make it fun not torturous
[..YouTube..] @nazisthebest14579 thanks a lot, man
[..YouTube..] Nice strat (Y) And thanks!
[..YouTube..] f#ucking pentatonic
[..YouTube..] what for shoes are you wearing?
[..YouTube..] Craazy!!
It´ll take a lot of time to me playing like that!
xD
[..YouTube..] I use the pinky instead of the 3rd finger so i also can do diatonic scales very fast….
[..YouTube..] ionulzn depends how much work your willing to put in tbh
[..YouTube..] @ionulzn However long it takes you the individual to get it down
just don’t try to rush it. Practice it and get it down on a clean tone before you ever even plug into distortion. If you find yourself getting overly frustrated just play a song you know or just walk away a few minutes and go back to it.
ALSO what nazisthebest said is awsome advice.
[..YouTube..] wow I would like to see the free tutorial videos the 100 pple who disliked it learned from.
[..YouTube..] @crawford229 thanks, man. cheers
[..YouTube..] thanks for the lesson justin i really have to master this rock riff
[..YouTube..] thanks man ive heard that a million times abd have been trying to nail it down on my own but ive only been playing since dec. of 09 so this was really helpful
[..YouTube..] nice lesson. i want to hear justin play a song. =)
[..YouTube..] Can anyone else hear an Ambulance ?
[..YouTube..] i want the ring with the snake
[..YouTube..] tank you very much for this lesson:)
[..YouTube..] I can’t do it…
I’m at Stage 4 in the beginners course… am I supposed to be able to do it?
[..YouTube..] Check my videos out on my page.
First lesson up now!
Let me know what you think.
[..YouTube..] 3:21 listen to this part closely
[..YouTube..] Nice lesson. I can play it fast but not as fast as him.
[..YouTube..] @cursedreject
eww, u like it in the ass? :/
[..YouTube..] 1:10 nice
[..YouTube..] Awesome man! Thanks so much. The more I play it the faster it gets and I can keep it pretty clean aswell. I reckon in a week or two I’ll have it up to speed :>
[..YouTube..] @Crypticbeing F*ck? D=
[..YouTube..] Can someone help me eh?
When I leave the 15th note on the B string, my finger kind of pulls-off the note and the b note (open string) rings.
Is there any remedy for that? Any way of practice?
[..YouTube..] Oh shit he just told about it.. I should’ve asked at the end of the video…
Anyways great teacher
Problem solved.
[..YouTube..] I take back my comment on another video about the ads. I would sit through a few of them to watch this guy!
[..YouTube..] 9.10 nice
[..YouTube..] @EntanglementSatan Hey man, I had that same problem as well! It’s practice yeah, but I think you should trie to hammer on to the fretboard straight (I don’t know how to say that in English, I’m sorry)but with no angle you get it? That helped a lot for me. Hammer down straight
[..YouTube..] @EntanglementSatan Make sure that your index finger is touching the b string while holding down the 12th fret on the e string (;
[..YouTube..] Thank you!!!!
[..YouTube..] amazing lessions , thanks for putting these up
[..YouTube..] Hey just i little question if anyone can answer this please…. how important is it to use your 3rd finger to hammer on. It seems more natural to use my pinky, is this bad?
[..YouTube..] @MrDemonninja86
it will take 3 years to master, if you play 6 hours a day + watch Justin’s Videos. Thumb This Up!!!
[..YouTube..] @sambenstead1 its ok if you feel ok with it… but i would recomend try your third finger
[..YouTube..] kinda disrespectful they put pop hits before we started the lesson…..
[..YouTube..] Excellent class!
[..YouTube..] i can’t find a better teacher on the web, searching for 3 years…
[..YouTube..] this man is da best-living proof that you don’t have to be invisible to be a god
[..YouTube..] Damn, Justin you are the man! Thanks for helping all of us mortals!
[..YouTube..] @MrDemonninja86
been playin for 14 years and im still no master
obviously cuz if i was i wouldnt be watching lessons on youtube…
[..YouTube..] You are so awesome and helpful!! you are awesome!!!
[..YouTube..] @nichiryas
More like 3 years with all that just to get familiar and be a an expert. Doubt master. That title is for Justin here and all the other guitar lords.
[..YouTube..] I love you, Justin! You are the best! You help make crappy guitar players better all around the world. Thank you for your tuteledge.
[..YouTube..] yawn
[..YouTube..] geh tah
[..YouTube..] give your knowledge bout guitar to me
[..YouTube..] That is cool I never herd people do that?
[..YouTube..] That is cool I never herd people do that, And I did.
[..YouTube..] idk about you guys? but like i can play that easily. but not at that speed (well obv.) but i feeel like the picking rythem is cumbersomeeee.
[..YouTube..] @SiSePuedo YAWN 2.
It’s catching.
[..YouTube..] “Make sure all those things are really good before you try and speed it up otherwise you’re gonna be playing, well, you’ll play… Shit, really fast”
Hahaha you’re awesome at guitar dude, I wish I could play like you!
[..YouTube..] did he pick the 2 top strings at the same time then mute the b string first try or pick them one by one????
[..YouTube..] This exercise kind of puts me in the mind of playing Spirit of Radio’s intro.
[..YouTube..] @eggybread211 I just takes time and practice. You can be that good if you dedicate yourself.
[..YouTube..] thanks man – you’re a cool guy!
[..YouTube..] I cant even move my fingers that fast ._.
[..YouTube..] @MrDemonninja86 lol, learning is personal, some will learn something in 2 years that will just take 2 months for another guy. We are different:P
[..YouTube..] I am not even half as fast
[..YouTube..] Thanx for this lesson – but how many years will it take until you can move fingers so quick…..and you call this “for Beginners”!
[..YouTube..] great lesson. I didnt come up with the idea of muting one of the string when you shred. I would probably break down this open door in next months or year even… So thank you a lot Sire!!
[..YouTube..] Great video, keep it up. Brandon Jarod new music release coming soon!
[..YouTube..] @MrDemonninja86 how long do you think it will take if you play 10 hours a day? ive been playing for 2 years & i used to only practice 2-3 hours a day..now i have more time on my hands & i started practicing at least 10 hours a day a few months ago
[..YouTube..] when i pull off the second string it sounds retarded
[..YouTube..] u r awesome….!!!!!!!
[..YouTube..] @MrDemonninja86 wtf r u talkin bout
[..YouTube..] f**K, I wanna play like that
[..YouTube..] Justin is the ‘magic-man’, best teacher i’ve seen so far.
Thanks Justin, you are a source…
[..YouTube..] @MrDemonninja86 actually is not how much you play it’s more like what you play
[..YouTube..] how long that did take you to do it that fast?
[..YouTube..] @deadfalcon2
lmfao
[..YouTube..] this is a great lesson. just don’t expect to do it in one day.
if your struggling with this i would suggest doing the same thing on the 3rd fret so you don’t have to worry about your index finger.
[..YouTube..] thanks man!
[..YouTube..] good lesson 8
[..YouTube..] a lot of people these days write their comments only to get thumbs up, it’s pathetic. By the way it’s a great lesson:)
[..YouTube..] @MrDemoninja86 there is so much wrong with your statement. your obviously a keytar player.
[..YouTube..] Lol 03:21 Sounds like ‘fuck’…anyway nice vids man really appreciate the effort you’re putting into these.
[..YouTube..] hard to get really fast, but super rewarding when you do.
[..YouTube..] gracias from argentina nico its my name friend !!! tank you very much !!! its excelent inspiration and demostrative very simple and practik demostration of hability from youre knowledge !!! tank you and keep in toch my fr
[..YouTube..] justin how do you afford those mesa amps?
[..YouTube..] I’m pretty sure this lick is used in the first solo in “Battery”.
[..YouTube..] Great lesson, thanks, J!
[..YouTube..] This is used in the master exploder by tenacious D intro solo
[..YouTube..] If you metalheads are looking for a real song to practice this on, the awesome intro lick to Peace Sells by Megadeth is played using this exact technique, pull up a tab and check it out!
[..YouTube..] check out how he looks exxactly alike James Blunt!
[..YouTube..] @joeygetsrushed
True!!
[..YouTube..] please every1 subscribe 2 me!!!
[..YouTube..] in my language pick sounds very wrong xD
[..YouTube..] 1:25 man! I love that lick!
[..YouTube..] good vid man but cut your nails
[..YouTube..] dude, ur tutorial is very useful! I am your fan now! ^^
[..YouTube..] “…the one they call Justin Guitar…”
[..YouTube..] well then u’ll be playing shit real fast haha :p good point
[..YouTube..] awesome lesson!!
[..YouTube..] You’re not showing what the right hand’s doing. I know I can figure it out, but well, maybe there’s a trick there you didn’t mention
Except for that point, awesome lesson :p
[..YouTube..] This Is awesome first guy that has ever done something right with the whole guitar thing i love this guy your awesome justin
[..YouTube..] @crawford229 Getting it down on acoustic and transferring it to electric works too, believe me =D
